Switch between organizations

If you belong to more than one Swimlane organization, you can move from one to the other in two clicks, without logging out.

When you have several organizations

  • When you create your Swimlane account, you get your own workspace, and you are its owner.
  • Each invitation you accept adds another organization to your account (see Invite teammates and manage roles).
  • There is no button to create an extra organization yourself: additional organizations come from invitations.

Steps

  1. On a computer, click your avatar at the top of the left sidebar, just under the Swimlane logo. When you belong to more than one organization, a small arrow is shown on the avatar.
  2. The menu shows the organization you are in under Current Organization, with a check mark.
  3. Under Switch to, click the organization you want. Your role in each one (Owner, Admin or Member) is shown next to its name.
  4. Swimlane opens the same page in the other organization. For example, if you were on the inbox, you land on the inbox of the other organization.

To see who is in the organization you are using, click Manage Organizations at the bottom of the same menu. It opens Settings → Team Members.

What changes when you switch

Each organization is a separate workspace. After switching, you see that organization's:

  • contacts, lists and pipelines;
  • team members and pending invitations;
  • Team Settings, including the team digest emails;
  • integrations (Slack, La Growth Machine, HeyReach);
  • subscription: access to the app depends on the organization you are in.

Your LinkedIn account stays the same in every organization: it is attached to you, not to the organization.

Good to know

  • The organization is part of the page address. You can keep two organizations open in two browser tabs.
  • The public API follows your last visit. An API token acts on the organization you last used in the app. Before running a script or an automation against the API, open the right organization in Swimlane once (see Create an API token and make your first request).
  • Webhooks don't follow the switcher. A webhook belongs to you and receives contact events from every organization you are a member of (see Set up webhooks).
  • No switcher on the mobile layout. Switch from a computer, or from a wider browser window.
  • You can't leave an organization yourself. Ask one of its owners to remove you.

Troubleshooting

  • I don't see the other organization in the menu: the invitation was not accepted with your account. Open the invitation link again while logged in, or ask an owner to invite you again.
  • The app sends me to the paywall after switching: that organization has no active subscription. Switch back, or ask its owner.
