Follow background tasks in the Queue panel

Much of what Swimlane does for you happens in the background: imports, lead searches, connection requests, campaign messages, profile enrichment. The Queue panel shows that work and its status, so you always know whether something is running, waiting or has failed.

Open the panel

  1. Click the rocket icon at the bottom of the sidebar, just above Settings. On a phone, it sits in the top bar.
  2. The Queue panel slides open next to the sidebar.

A number on the rocket icon counts the tasks that are still live (pending, scheduled, running or waiting). No number means nothing is left to do.

What you see

The panel has two sections:

  • In progress: live work, shown as cards. A task that just finished stays here for about 30 seconds with a green outline, so you can see it land, then moves down.
  • Recent: finished work from the last 3 days, dimmed.

Each row shows what the task does (for example Sending connection request, Importing profile visitors or Searching people), the contact it concerns when there is one, the campaign that scheduled it, and its timing: a relative time, or As soon as possible once it is due. When you launch an action on many contacts at once, the tasks are grouped into a single row with its progress.

If the queue is empty, the panel says No tasks in your queue.

Statuses

  • Pending and Scheduled: waiting for their turn or for their planned time.
  • Running: in progress, with a moving bar.
  • Waiting for daily limit: a daily limit is full. Hover the label: the task picks itself back up as soon as the limit resets, and there is nothing to do on your side. A task held outside your virtual office hours shows this status too.
  • Completed: done.
  • Failed: the task could not finish. The error is shown on the row.
  • Cancelled: stopped before it ran.

Good to know

  • Tasks are spaced out on purpose, at random intervals, to keep your LinkedIn activity natural. A queue that moves slowly is normal.
  • Tasks that act on LinkedIn only run during your virtual office hours, once you have set them in Settings → Virtual Office Hours.
  • A task that fails is retried automatically a few times before it is shown as Failed.
  • The panel lists the work you triggered or that runs for you. Some small internal refreshes are not shown.
  • There is no cancel button in the panel.

When to check it

  • After launching an import or a search, to follow its progress.
  • When a campaign seems stuck: Waiting for daily limit means your limits are doing their job; tasks resume the next day.
  • After reconnecting LinkedIn, to spot what failed while the session was down (see Reconnect LinkedIn when the session expires).
  • When you see many failures, check that LinkedIn is still connected and look at your daily consumption in Settings → Usage (see Check your daily usage).
