Read your campaign results

Swimlane counts what your campaigns do on LinkedIn and what comes back. Here's where each number lives and exactly what it means.

Where to find your results

  • Campaigns page: a row of totals across your campaigns, then one card per campaign.
  • Dashboard: the Active campaigns section shows the same totals for your active campaigns. Open campaigns takes you to the page.
  • Campaign board: the View pipeline icon on a card opens the board of the campaign's contacts.
  • Contact record: the Campaigns section lists the campaigns a contact is in.

You only see the campaigns you created.

The totals

A tile only appears once it has a value, and only if at least one campaign performs that action. An invitation-only campaign never shows reply tiles.

  • Pending: contacts still in your campaigns who haven't received a message from them yet. It's derived from the other counters, so read it as an indication.
  • Deferred: actions that are scheduled but haven't gone out yet, typically because your office hours are closed, a daily limit is reached or they're waiting their turn in the queue. They go out by themselves. When both exist, the tile reads Pending / Deferred.
  • Messages Sent: messages sent by your campaigns. Every message counts, so a two-message sequence adds two per contact.
  • Connection requests: invitations sent by your campaigns.
  • Connections accepted: contacts who became connections after a campaign invited them, counted once per contact.
  • Replied: contacts who wrote to you after a campaign messaged them, counted once per contact and per campaign. Replies are picked up when your conversations sync.
  • Reply Rate: Replied divided by Messages Sent. It's based on messages, not people, so sequences with several messages show a lower rate.
  • Invitations accepted rate: Connections accepted divided by Connection requests.

A campaign card

  • Header: the name, a status badge (Active, Paused, Draft, or Enrolling… while the first contacts are being added) and when the campaign started.
  • Funnel: Enrolled, then Requests and Accepted if the flow sends invitations, then Messages and Replied if it sends messages. The percentage on the right of each line compares it with the line it comes from: Requests and Messages against Enrolled, Accepted against Requests, Replied against Messages.
  • Filtered out: the amber part of the Enrolled bar. These contacts finished their sequence without any LinkedIn action being performed for them, for example because a condition sent them to an empty branch, or a connection request was skipped because they were already connected.
  • Footer: Invitations accepted rate, Reply Rate, and the number of pending or deferred contacts.
  • Before anything happens, the card reads Waiting to enroll contacts and start sending.

The campaign board

Click the View pipeline icon on a card. The board is read-only and refreshes every 30 seconds.

  • Not Started: enrolled contacts whose sequence hasn't begun.
  • One column per step (tag steps don't have one), named after the step: for example Pending Connection, Message 1 Sent or the template name followed by Sent, Post Liked, Poked, Connected, In Conversation, Replied or Profile Viewed.
  • Completed: contacts who reached the end of their branch.

A contact sits in the column of the step it's currently on. Someone under Message 1 Sent is at that step, and the message may still be waiting to go out. Someone under Replied is waiting for that check, not necessarily someone who replied. Each card shows the contact's ICP level for this campaign when there is one. Click a card to open the contact.

On a contact

The Campaigns section of a contact lists each campaign it's in, with the contact's status in it: Pending, In progress, Completed, Failed or Paused. Click a campaign to open its board.

What isn't measured

  • Whether a message was opened.
  • Results per step or per message.
  • Your teammates' campaigns, which don't appear on your Campaigns page.
