Pause, edit, resume or delete a campaign
Manage a running campaign from its card on the Campaigns page, and know what happens to the contacts already in it.
Pause a campaign
- Open Campaigns.
- On the campaign card, click the pause icon (tooltip Pause). You can also open the three-dot menu, choose Pause and confirm with Pause in the Pause this campaign? window.
The badge changes to Paused. From then on:
- No new contacts are enrolled, and the contacts already in the campaign stop moving forward: no condition is checked and no new action is scheduled.
- Messages and connection requests that were already in your queue are still sent.
- Delays and Wait for acceptance periods keep counting during the pause.
- The ICP levels calculated for this campaign are hidden on your contacts.
Resume a campaign
On the paused campaign's card, click the play icon (tooltip Resume), or choose Resume in the three-dot menu. There is no confirmation.
The campaign is Active again and each contact picks up where it stopped:
- Steps whose delay ended during the pause run as soon as possible.
- New members of the source list are enrolled again.
- An invitation whose acceptance period ended during the pause follows Not accepted, unless the contact has connected with you in the meantime.
Edit a campaign
Choose Edit in the three-dot menu. The campaign opens in the campaign editor, on its own page.
- A draft can be changed entirely. Save it with Save draft, then launch it from Review.
- A launched campaign keeps its steps locked: the Flow Builder shows them read-only, because the contacts already in the sequence are positioned on them. You can still change its name, description, Only new arrivals and audience, then click Save changes. New contacts are enrolled under the new settings, and contacts already enrolled stay in the campaign.
Other ways to adjust a launched campaign:
- The text of a message step linked to a template. Edit the template itself: the campaign uses the template's current text each time it sends. See Create and use message templates.
- Who is in the source list. Contacts you add are enrolled if they match the filters. Contacts you remove stay enrolled.
- One contact. Archive the contact to pause their sequence, and unarchive them to resume it.
To change the sequence itself, create a new campaign, then pause or delete the old one. Contacts who went through the old campaign can enter the new one too: turn on Only new arrivals, or start the new flow with Has a conversation, so you don't contact the same people twice.
Delete a campaign
- In the three-dot menu, choose Delete.
- Confirm with Delete in the Delete this campaign? window. This can't be undone.
What happens:
- The campaign and its board disappear.
- Messages and connection requests it had already scheduled in your queue are cancelled.
- What's done stays done: messages already sent and invitations already sent on LinkedIn are not withdrawn, and tags added by the campaign stay on your contacts.
- Your contacts and lists are not deleted.
- The campaign's audience is deleted, along with the ICP levels calculated for it.
Good to know
- Pausing from the card icon is immediate. Pausing from the three-dot menu asks for confirmation.
- A campaign keeps running until you pause or delete it, because new contacts can enter at any time.
- A campaign in Draft has been saved but not launched yet. Click Continue setup on its card to finish it and launch it.
