The team digest: daily recap and weekly report

The team digest is an email that tells the whole team what happened: who sent invitations, who got them accepted, how campaigns perform and where contacts sit in your pipelines. It comes in two versions, a Daily Digest and a Weekly Report, and you can turn each one on or off.

Before you start

You must be an Owner of the organization to change these settings or send a test.

Turn the digest on or off

  1. Click Settings at the bottom of the left sidebar.
  2. In the Team / Multi-accounts group, open Team Settings.
  3. In the Notifications card, switch Daily Digest and/or Weekly Report on or off.
  4. Click Save Changes.

For a new organization, Weekly Report is on and Daily Digest is off.

When it is sent

  • Daily Digest: every day at 07:00 UTC. It covers the previous day, from midnight to midnight UTC.
  • Weekly Report: every Monday at 07:00 UTC. It covers the previous seven days.
  • The Default Timezone field in Team Settings does not change these times.
  • Every member of the organization receives it, each in the language of their own account.
  • If nothing happened during the period (no member activity and no campaign activity), the email is not sent.

What the email contains

Team total: five figures for the whole team over the period:

  • invitations accepted
  • invitations sent
  • messages sent
  • contacts imported
  • profiles scraped

Campaigns (only when a campaign had activity): the overall acceptance rate and reply rate, then up to six campaigns, each with invitations sent, invitations accepted with the acceptance rate, messages sent, and replies with the reply rate. Acceptance rate is accepted ÷ sent; reply rate is replies ÷ messages sent.

Pipelines: for each pipeline shared with the team, the number of contacts in each stage at the time the email is built. Empty stages are left out, and so are private pipelines. Pipelines created in the app are private to their creator, so this section only appears once a pipeline has been shared with the team through the public API (see Swimlane public API reference).

By member: one card per member who did something during the period, with the same five figures, sorted by invitations accepted, then messages sent. Under New connections, the card lists the people who accepted that member's invitations (name and headline), up to 12, followed by "+ N contacts" for the rest.

Send a test

  1. In Team Settings, under Daily Digest or Weekly Report, click Send a test.
  2. Read the warning: "Every team member will receive this test email."
  3. Click Send to the whole team.

The test uses the same period as the real email (yesterday for the daily version, the last seven days for the weekly one). It is always sent, even when the team had no activity, in which case the figures are zero. The confirmation tells you how many members it is being sent to.

Good to know

  • Messages sent counts messages sent through Swimlane, from the inbox and from campaigns. Messages you send directly on LinkedIn are not counted.
  • Invitations accepted counts the people whose acceptance Swimlane recorded during the period.
  • The digest is not a live dashboard: the pipeline section is a snapshot, and the other numbers only cover the period of the email.
  • The email does not show conversations, replies per member or any contact score.
  • There is no option to send the digest to only some members, or to an address outside the team.

Troubleshooting

  • "Failed to save team settings." or "Failed to send the test email.": only owners can do this. Ask an owner.
  • Nobody received this morning's digest: check that the switch is on and saved, and that the team or a campaign had activity during the period. An empty period sends nothing.
