Manage your subscription: invoices, card, plan changes and cancellation
Swimlane's billing is handled by Stripe. From Swimlane you open Stripe's secure billing portal, where you find your invoices, update your card and cancel your subscription.
Open the billing portal
- Open Settings from the bottom of the sidebar.
- In the Team / Multi-accounts group, click Manage Subscription.
- Stripe's billing portal opens in the same tab. When you are done, use its link back to return to Swimlane's settings.
What you can do in the portal
- Download invoices and receipts. A lifetime purchase also comes with an invoice.
- Update your payment card.
- Cancel your subscription.
What happens when a subscription ends
Your workspace keeps access as long as Stripe reports the subscription as active or in trial. Once it has ended:
- every member of the workspace lands on the billing page instead of the app;
- your data is kept: contacts, lists, pipelines, campaigns and conversations stay where they are;
- nothing runs on LinkedIn for you any more: campaigns stop advancing, and imports, searches and profile refreshes stop.
You can come back at any time by choosing an option on the billing page. The free trial is granted once per workspace, so the button then reads Subscribe and billing starts right away.
Change billing option
There is no plan switcher inside Swimlane: the billing page only appears when your workspace has no access. To move from one option to another, cancel in the portal; when the current subscription has ended, pick the new option on the billing page. Starting a new monthly or yearly subscription there cancels any subscription still running on the workspace, so you are never billed twice.
The options offered are the ones currently on sale among Monthly, Yearly and Lifetime. The lifetime offer is limited and disappears once its spots are taken or its end date has passed.
If a payment fails
If a renewal payment fails, Stripe marks the subscription as past due and your workspace is locked until a payment goes through. Update your card in the portal as soon as possible. Access comes back once Stripe records the payment.
Good to know
- The subscription belongs to the workspace. All its members use Swimlane under it.
- Seats. Monthly and yearly subscriptions count one seat per member of the workspace at the moment you subscribed.
- Lifetime. There is nothing to renew or cancel. The portal still gives you access to your invoice.
- Promotion codes and tax ID are entered on the Stripe checkout page when you subscribe.
- Deleting your account does not cancel the subscription. Cancel it in the portal first (see Export or delete your data).
Troubleshooting
- "No billing portal for this account." Your workspace has no Stripe billing to manage, for example when access was granted without a payment.
- You are locked on the billing page and cannot reach Settings. Contact the Swimlane team, who can help you update your payment details.
- You paid but still see the billing page. Stripe can take a few seconds to confirm. Refresh the page; the app opens as soon as access is granted.
