Export contacts to CSV

You can download the contacts of any table as a CSV file, to open in a spreadsheet or load into another tool. The export takes exactly what the table shows, so filter first and export second.

Steps

  1. Open the table you want to export:
    • a list, or All Leads, from the Lists page;
    • an Inbox view such as All Members, Relations, Contacts, Reminders, a tag or a pipeline.
  2. Narrow it down if needed: the filters of a list page, the tabs of the view (for example Relations in All Members) and the search bar all apply.
  3. Click Export CSV at the top right, next to the table title.

The file contacts_export.csv downloads straight away.

What the file contains

One row per contact shown in the table, with, when Swimlane knows them:

  • first name, last name and display name;
  • email, phone and website;
  • company, position, headline and biography;
  • location, country, city and language;
  • tags and the contact's note;
  • LinkedIn ID and LinkedIn URL, follower count, Premium and influencer flags, and whether you are connected;
  • dates of last activity, last interaction, last contact and creation.

Values are separated by commas, wrapped in double quotes and encoded in UTF-8.

Good to know

  • The table, not the selection. Ticked checkboxes are ignored: the export always contains every contact currently shown. To export a hand-picked group, tag it first, then export the tag's view in the Inbox sidebar.
  • No pipeline stage or list names. The file doesn't say which lists or stage a contact is in. To export a pipeline's contacts, open it under Pipelines in the Inbox sidebar, or filter a list page with Added to a Pipeline.
  • Computer only. The Export CSV button is hidden on small screens.
  • Connection status is yours. The connected column reflects your own LinkedIn account, not your teammates'.
  • Everything happens in your browser. The file is built from the contacts already loaded in the page. Nothing is sent to LinkedIn and no daily limit is used.
  • To feed another tool continuously rather than by file, look at the public API or webhooks (see Swimlane public API reference).
